Preysing Palace was built in Munich by the architect Joseph Effner during the late Baroque period — in the first half of the XVIII century. It was erected especially for Count Maximilian von Preysing and is notable for becoming the first rococo-style building in the Bavarian capital.
This building is located opposite the Munich Residence — the historic home of the kings, prince-electors, and dukes of Bavaria from the Wittelsbach dynasty.
Nowadays, Preysing Palace is no longer a family mansion and houses a variety of offices and shops. Still, it is worth stopping by — visitors have access to a staircase with three flights, decorated with authentic wall bas-reliefs. Even this alone allows one to fully appreciate the palace's former interiors.
