“Alpamare,” which translates as “Alpine Sea,” is one of the largest water parks in Europe. It is located not in Munich itself, but 50 km from it, in the town of Bad Tölz. This place is known for its thermal springs, whose water is rich in iodine.
At the water park, you can not only have fun on the water slides, but also relax in an indoor pool with thermal water or in an outdoor bubbling pool. Here you can enjoy hydromassage, salt baths, and also spend plenty of time steaming in the saunas.
For fans of active recreation, the characteristics of the water slides will be especially important:
“Thriller” is a 160-meter descent through a tube accompanied by flashes of light, moving images, and even sound effects. Those who tried it were delighted. “Alpine Canyons” is a high-speed descent with some sections featuring almost vertical drops. If you are not afraid of losing your voice from excited screams, this is the place for you.“Cobra” is a 110 m tunnel that everyone rides down on plastic mats, passing numerous flashes of light.“Alpine Bobsleigh” is an imitation mountain river where real rapids, whirlpools, and even waterfalls await you.“Tornado” is pure adrenaline! A high-speed descent through a closed multicolored tube with an open funnel.
