Kiskirálylány is a charming sculpture of a little girl in a carnival jester costume, sitting on the railing of a tram stop. Behind her, there is a wonderful view of the Royal Palace, so many people try to capture all this beauty as a keepsake. Photos of the "Me, the princess, and the palace" kind are a must on any Hungarian itinerary.
In fact, to be in Budapest and not take a picture with her is like being in Paris and not taking a photo with the Eiffel Tower. She really is very cute, and she also brings good luck. They say that if you rub her legs and make a wish, it will definitely come true. That is probably the case, because how else can you explain her knees polished to a golden shine? Unfortunately, some people do not stop there - recently, part of the sculpture's clown cap went missing.
This amusing little girl appeared here in 1989. Her creator was the famous sculptor Laszlo Marton. Over the course of his life, he made many sculptures, but this one turned out to be so successful that copies of it now stand in other cities around the world, for example in Tokyo. And in Hungary itself, they decided to install the "Little Princess" in one more city - Tapolca.
