The military history of Great Britain is rich and diverse. The geography of the battles fought by the British Army over the centuries is astonishing in its scale, so there is plenty to see at the National Army Museum in London.
The collection features several permanent exhibitions, including an art gallery where visitors can admire works by Great Britain's greatest artists - portraits of military commanders and large-scale battle scenes.
Throughout the museum, you will encounter figures of warriors dressed in historical uniforms, matching the famous wax figures of Madame Tussauds in realism and quality of execution. Here it is almost impossible to shake the feeling that the soldier hiding with a rifle in the bushes or behind a tree is aiming right at you. Numerous galleries tell the stories of ordinary soldiers and simple people - men and women who, without even realizing it, became true heroes for the sake of their homeland.
A separate hall of the museum is devoted to a diorama of the Battle of Waterloo, which became Napoleon's last in history. By the way, the skeleton of his favorite war horse Marengo is also an exhibit of the National Army Museum.
