The Odessa Champagne Factory was founded in 1896 as the “Odessa Henri Roederer Factory.” Although the man after whom the enterprise was named should more properly have been called Henri Roederer - he was the heir to a French winemaking dynasty.
Since 2009, the factory has been part of the Campari group of companies. Originally faithful to French traditions, for a long time it produced sparkling wines according to the classic recipe, but in 1952 it moved to a new stage of evolution: champagne began to be made using the tank method, in which the secondary fermentation of the drink takes place in large metal containers.
Today, the factory produces 15 million bottles of champagne every year. Anyone wishing to take a closer look at the production process of this popular sparkling wine can go on a tour of the factory and witness every stage of production — from raw material intake to bottling the champagne. Visitors will also enjoy a tasting of more than a dozen varieties of wine.
