Restaurant «Оризонтес Ликавитту», as the name suggests, is located at the top of Ликавит hill in the center of Афин. From a height of about 300 meters, magnificent views of the entire city open up. In fact, the panoramas are the main advantage of this establishment and what you will have to pay for. Prices for food and drinks here are somewhat above average; in addition, you can get up the mountain only by funicular, which runs once every half hour.
The best tables on the terrace need to be booked in advance, but seats deeper inside the hall are sometimes available even without prior reservation. For dinner, you can choose one of 10 set menus or limit yourself to appetizers or a main course.
Opinions about the quality of the food are mixed: some consider the restaurant's cuisine excellent, others "acceptable." However, everyone agrees on one thing — Афины from above look simply breathtaking.
Elegant table setting, a classic interior, first-class service, and the special atmosphere reigning here are able to compensate for the slightly inflated prices, the complicated route, and other possible shortcomings. It is hard to imagine a better place for a romantic date or a celebratory dinner: late in the evening, when the city beneath the hill is illuminated by thousands of lights, the moon hangs in the dark Greek sky so close that it seems you could reach it with your hand.
