In Milan, as in any other fashionable European city, there are entire districts devoted to the fashion industry. One of them is the so-called Milanese Golden Quadrilateral. There, in addition to шикарных boutiques of famous global brands, you will also find the amazing little restaurant Bice, where celebrated couturiers, industrial magnates, and top models always enjoy lunch and dinner. When Milan hosts Fashion Weeks, the doors of this restaurant are even closed to ordinary mortals – only representatives of high society who have reserved tables in advance are received here.
But throughout the rest of the year, the restaurant is open to everyone. The most popular dishes on the menu, which the chef definitely recommends tourists try, are white truffles, steak, risotto, and, of course, the wonderfully aromatic bouquet of Tuscan wines.
The Bice restaurant received its name in honor of its founder-owner, Bice Mungai. Together with her brothers, she came to Milan in the first half of the 20th century and opened her first tavern here. Simple homemade recipes were skillfully combined with the friendliness and courtesy of the staff, and therefore the tavern soon gained great popularity among both local residents and visitors to Milan. And from 1939, society soirées aimed at representatives of the bohemian world and the fashion world began to be held here. Thus Bice became firmly and for a long time part of the history not only of haute cuisine, but also of high fashion.
