The London Dungeon opened in 1976 as a museum of the dark chapters of Britain's past. Later, the collection of medieval tales turned into one of the scariest urban attractions.
What instills terror in tourists here is not only the imagination-stirring special effects, but also the professional actors! The road of fear in the Dungeon begins with the "Labyrinth of the Lost Souls." In a mirrored room, among the reflections, ghosts from the past eerily wander and frighten museum visitors.
In the other halls of the Dungeon, you can live through the London plague and the Great Fire, visit Sweeney Todd's barbershop, meet Jack the Ripper, and even take a ride to hell.
Recently, a new attraction appeared in the Dungeon. Now you can find out what those condemned to the gallows feel. Museum visitors are "turned" into criminals who are about to be executed. After the guilty verdict is read out, a noose appears before thrill-seekers. Then the lights suddenly go out and the "condemned" fall down. Scary? We told you so! :)
