A beautiful and romantic legend surrounds the creation of the fountain «Влюбленные сердца», which stands on the embankment of Геленджика. It was precisely in this place that long ago a girl and a young man met, whose names have been lost to history.
They fell in love with each other at first sight, but the young man was facing a long voyage. He went to sea, and his beloved came to the pier every day and looked out for his ship. To brighten the long hours of waiting, she threw small stones into the sea. So several years passed... One fine day her beloved returned to Геленджик, they immediately got married and lived a long and happy life.
In honor of this beautiful story of love and fidelity, a fountain was placed at the site of their meeting. The young couple is frozen in that tender moment that precedes a gentle kiss. They stand on a globe, as if saying: the whole world is at our feet when we find our love.
Four jets of the fountain spout around the globe, and into the basin beneath the sculpture you should throw a small stone while making a wish connected with matters of the heart.
The fountain «Влюбленные сердца» is located not far from the city registry office, which is surely a hint. However, local lovers gladly accepted this hint: here by the fountain, declarations of love and marriage proposals often take place.
