The Butterfly Garden on Samui is located in the southeastern part of the island, on the slope of a mountain. A trip to see the butterflies can be combined with a visit to the tiger zoo and the aquarium, since they are very close to each other.
The first thing that catches your eye when visiting the Butterfly Garden is the incredible variety of exotic flowers and plants, but by no means the butterflies themselves. Indeed, it would be more accurate to call this place a botanical garden, since the vegetation here is simply luxuriant, even more so than in the natural jungle.
There are many butterflies here in terms of quantity, but they represent only 25 species, so studying lepidopterology here is not very convenient. In addition, the Garden offers the opportunity to observe hardworking bees through glass.
Nevertheless, it is very cozy here, and you can easily spend a couple of hours simply relaxing under the cool shade of the foliage; charming gazebos are set up everywhere, and there is even a small waterfall. Don't forget to buy a souvenir to remember it by, for example, a dried butterfly.
Climbing even higher up the mountain slope, you will reach an observation deck, from where you can see the Gulf of Siam.
