One of the brightest and most memorable spectacles in Hong Kong is the light and laser show “Symphony of Lights.” Over several years of its existence, the show has become a kind of calling card of the city and even made it into the Guinness Book of Records thanks to its immense scale.
“Symphony of Lights” begins every evening, and it is best watched from the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui. There, besides a good view, the soundtrack can be heard perfectly thanks to the speakers installed along the promenade.
Along the bay stand several dozen giant skyscrapers which, thanks to illumination, fireworks, and musical accompaniment, seem to come alive right before your eyes. It is a light-and-music dance of energy, life, and progress that amazes with its grandeur.
The show lasts less than fifteen minutes, but in that time you will experience unforgettable emotions. “Symphony of Lights” is conventionally divided into three acts, like a real performance. The first act, “Awakening,” symbolizes the birth of Hong Kong. The second act, “Life,” through dynamically changing lights portrays Hong Kong as a rapidly developing and vibrant oasis. The show concludes with the third act, “Celebration,” which serves as the final chord, during which the sky explodes with fireworks and lights, dedicated to the people who work for the good of their city.
