The themed park 'Noah's Ark' is dedicated to one of the main biblical stories, which seems quite unexpected in Hong Kong. The founders of the park, the Kwok brothers, Chinese businessmen, are evangelical Christians. By creating an exact replica of the ark, the founders wanted to convey a message to people: life is full of hardships and disasters, but if you believe in yourself and in help from above, all these troubles can be overcome.
The ark was created exactly according to the description in the Bible: it is 300 cubits long, 30 cubits high, and 50 cubits wide. Inside the ark there is an interactive educational museum that tells the story of Noah building the ark for 67 pairs of animals, the journey of its inhabitants, and the subsequent life of Noah's descendants. The museum has exhibits dedicated to animals and insects, natural disasters, the causes of the Great Flood, and the history of humanity after it. A separate exhibition tells of the many attempts to find the real ark and the scientific facts connected with the biblical legend. Among the museum's exhibits there is even a fossilized piece of wood, presumably once part of Noah's Ark.
There is also an excellent restaurant here, and on the top floor there are hotel rooms for those wishing to spend the night in such an extravagant place. Around it stretches the spacious Ma Wan Park, where you will find hundreds of life-size and very realistic animal figures. Their resemblance to the real thing is further emphasized by the sound effects: real predator roars, the chatter of birds, and other jungle sounds can be heard from the park's thickets.
