Wong Tai Sin at the foot of Lion Rock in Kowloon is one of the most popular places in Hong Kong, where Buddhists and followers of Confucianism gather.
This is a famous Taoist temple dedicated to the monk Wong Cho Ping, who, as legend has it, set out on the path of Taoism at the age of 15, attained enlightenment, became immortal, and was later given the name Wong Tai Sin.
The construction of this complex began in 1921. Its founder claimed that Tai Sin himself showed him the place to build the temple.
Today, visitors to the sanctuary can see the Hall of Three Saints, the Archive Hall, the Bronze Pavilion, the Yue Hing Shrine, the picturesque Good Wish Garden, a separate hall for followers of Confucius, as well as a library of Chinese religious literature.
