The walk along Jerusalem's southern wall begins at the Tower of David. Walking on, you will see the remains of the Kishle, the buildings of the Ottoman city police. Next, you will enjoy an excellent view of Mishkenot Shaananim. The area that only some 50 years ago was a slum is now considered one of the most prestigious in the city. The Armenian Quarter is closed to visitors of other nationalities, so a walk along the Jerusalem wall is a great way to get acquainted with it at least from the outside. You will also encounter Dormition Abbey, where you can see King David's Tomb and the Upper Room, where the Last Supper took place. Continuing on, you will arrive at Zion Gate, which still bears the dents left on it from the War of Independence of 1947-1949. And this walk ends near the Jewish Quarter, not far from the Western Wall.
