In this historic cafe, which has existed since the mid-19th century, you can sample some of the best pastries in Vienna. At least, that is what connoisseurs claim. Even the legendary Sacher chocolate cake, they assure, tastes better here than in the hotel of the same name by the Vienna Opera building.
After opening, Gerstner Cafe almost immediately became a favorite of the royal court, and its founder Anton Gerstner was officially proclaimed the chief court confectioner.
Homemade pie, delightful cream sponge pastries, delicious candies, truffles, pralines - all this can be bought and tasted in the famous Viennese cafe. And some items in elegant gift packaging can even be taken away as souvenirs.
If you are very hungry, at Gerstner Cafe you can not only have tea or coffee with dessert, but also order something more substantial, for example, a bowl of vegetable soup and sandwiches.
