For a leisurely stroll, we recommend the broad pedestrian street Spiegelgasse, located in the historic center of Vienna. It is a lively thoroughfare with art galleries, antique shops, and boutiques showcasing the works of Viennese masters of all styles and genres.
We also recommend stopping by the Dorotheum palace, where you can see rare jewelry, furniture, carpets, and interior decor items.
Don't miss the view of the lovely Byzantine-style church that opens up at the intersection with Plankengasse. At the corner with Graben there is a large and elegant Braun clothing store.
Also on this street, in the attic atop one of the buildings, is a legendary Viennese studio designed by the iconic Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. In the 1960s, it was a traditional meeting place for local artists and performers.
Spiegelgasse is also worth visiting for Viennese porcelain. Here you can buy both simple souvenirs and luxurious gifts.
