A distinctive feature of this museum is its location - it is housed in a former anti-aircraft defense tower. By Hitler's order, similar structures were built in Vienna, Hamburg, and Berlin. For example, there were as many as 6 of them in the Austrian capital. Today, one of them serves exclusively peaceful purposes.
From the first to the last floor of the zoo, you can leisurely walk up on foot, looking at the halls along the way, where various species of animals and marine creatures are displayed. There is even a tropical garden here, where little monkeys run around and exotic birds flutter. Wooden bridges, artificial grottoes, waterfalls, green plants - here you can literally come into contact with nature!
After visiting the museum, be sure to go up to the top floor, where there is an excellent observation deck from which the whole city opens up before you as if in the palm of your hand. You can admire Vienna from a bird's-eye view while sitting in a cozy cafe. And then head out for shopping on the famous shopping street Mariahilfer.
