The Jerusalem History Museum, located in the “Tower of David,” is in the very center of the city near Jaffa Gate. This is an ancient fortress with a centuries-old history, and the museum in it was founded in 1989. Many of its exhibits are more than 3000 years old! There is also an archaeological park on the museum grounds, where visitors can see with their own eyes the ruins of ancient structures erected in different eras. The museum also features a model of the city, vividly depicting Jerusalem in biblical times. In addition, there are many drawings, models, maps, holograms, and videos here telling the story of the oldest city in different eras and under different rulers.
Tourists can see the Old and New Jerusalem from the observation deck, which is located on the fortress wall. From here, there is a прекрасный panoramic view.
The museum often hosts temporary exhibitions, as well as academic seminars, concerts, and other cultural events. And in the evenings, the “Night Mystery” begins - a unique light show unlike any other in the world. To beautiful music, images telling about the distant past are projected onto the ancient walls of the fortress. The performance lasts 45 minutes and takes place outdoors. Anyone can buy a ticket for a daytime tour of the museum with the right to attend the evening show.
