On the Danube embankment, you can come across a very charming monument — a girl playing with her dog. The dog is holding a ball in its teeth, and the girl is trying to reach it. It is one of those sculptures that are not dedicated to any particular person or event, but simply create a good mood. Tourists adore such monuments, because they make it possible to take amusing photos!
The author of the sculpture is David Raffai. At the unveiling of the monument, he said that he wanted to create a charming image that would become as beloved by residents and visitors of the city as the "Little Princess" in a clown's cap. And, apparently, he succeeded. People treat this composition with great warmth. Many even try to sit down on the same flowerbed where the girl "sits."
By the way, the prototype of the bronze beauty, oddly enough, was an elderly woman who came to the embankment to play with her dog. But the sculptor decided to depict her as young.
The monument was unveiled in April 2007. They say that during the ceremony quite a few dogs gathered around, and they were diligently fed, so they probably liked the monument too. Today, residents of Budapest often stroll here, and every self-respecting tourist tries to capture themselves against the backdrop of this lovely pair.
