The museum's permanent exhibition is divided into several large sections. The “Paleontology” section not only displays fossils from various geological periods, but also recreates the natural environment of each of them. Here you can also see a map of the evolution of living beings spanning 1,8 million years and a dinosaur model more than 7 meters long.
At the “Botany” exhibition, dedicated to the plant world of Greece, 200 thousand exhibits are presented: leaves, branches, fruits, flowers, fungi, mosses, and much more.
In the entomology section, admire butterflies and moths from different countries of the world, or look at insects that live nowhere except Greece.
Separate exhibitions are devoted to mammals, birds, and reptiles. Overall, the museum allows visitors not only to get acquainted with the flora and fauna, but also to understand the interconnections of natural communities.
The real jewel of this collection is the surrounding botanical garden, where valuable species of trees, rare shrubs, fragrant flowers, and medicinal herbs grow.
The Goulandris Museum team works to popularize the natural sciences and environmental education. Themed exhibitions, lectures, seminars, and other events are constantly held here, mainly for schoolchildren and students.
