In 1987, the Barcelona municipality announced a competition to build a new TV tower. Many specialists took part in the tender, but the Englishman Norman Foster emerged victorious. He presented to the jury a design for a tower 288 meters high, which at the time was a very bold and ambitious proposal. However, Foster claimed that such a structure was entirely feasible from a technical point of view and promised to become a new symbol and adornment of Barcelona.
And so it happened: 5 years later, just in time for the opening of the Olympics, the Torre del Collserola television tower was ceremonially unveiled. It is important to note that, in addition to its own quite impressive size, it was also located on Mount Tibidabo, so the total height came to 560 meters! Needless to say, the panoramic view from its observation deck is absolutely stunning?
You can reach the top by elevator with glass windows, and that in itself will be a real adventure for you. A restaurant located inside this television tower will help prolong the pleasure of Barcelona's beautiful views.
