You can see the creepy torture chambers of the 16th-century Inquisition, witness brutal executions recreated with frightening documentary accuracy, visit a ship and observe what naval service during the time of the Dutch East India Company was really like. If that seems too little, then welcome to the labyrinth of death, or to the bloody tribunal - entertainment for every taste. The main thing is to make it out in time ;)
There are similar attractions in London and York, Berlin and Hamburg, but the Amsterdam one is interesting in its own way and attracts more and more tourists. Despite the grim atmosphere, the show is considered "family-friendly" and is never empty.
