Eminonu Square is located between the famous Galata Bridge (the very one favored by fishermen) and the New Mosque (the Valide Sultan Mosque). This lively place is almost constantly flooded with countless street vendors and visitors. Some are hurrying somewhere, some are actively exploring the goods on display, the sellers are persuading them to buy, and the tourists, in turn, are looking everything over and asking questions.
In addition, the square is home to the pier of the same name, from which sightseeing boats depart on Bosphorus tours. The square is also the starting and ending stop for many city buses and taxis.
