This is the kind of attraction that makes you smile. French perfumer Christopher Lacaren and Ukrainian artist Alexander Tokarev created a fountain that can spray fragrance into the air.
The fountain stands in the City Garden and runs only in the warmer months. It was installed for the 210th anniversary of Odesa's founding.
Local residents chose the scent themselves. Several fragrances were created first, and then the city voted for a favorite. In summer, that aroma, considered Odesa's signature scent, drifts through the City Garden once an hour.
The idea for this unusual fountain is said to have been inspired by Pushkin's poem "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai."
