The tradition of opening galleries and exhibition spaces on the premises of shuttered industrial enterprises began to gain momentum in Russia several years ago. Around the same time, it also spread to neighboring Ukraine. Odessa became one of the first cities to lead the way.
Thus, the building of the branch of the Russian-American manufactory partnership "Treugolnik," which specialized in rubber production, became home to the Alexander Korobchinsky Art Center. It opened its doors precisely on City Day — September 2, 2009. The famous Russian artist Nikas Safronov, who attended the opening, called this event nothing short of one of global significance!
Since opening, the Art Center has hosted more than 200 video installations, exhibitions, performances, and various presentations. On a broader scale, the Alexander Korobchinsky Art Center aims to educate a younger generation of creative people and modernize contemporary society.
