Built in 2009-2011, the UniCredit Tower became the tallest structure in Italy. Its total height reaches 231 meters: the main building is 146 meters and the spire is 85 meters. You can see this architectural masterpiece in Milan's Porta Nuova business district, not far from Garibaldi railway station.
The tower, which houses the headquarters of UniCredit Bank, is part of a complex of three skyscrapers designed by Argentine architect Cesar Pelli. Construction of this business center proceeded quickly, and environmentally friendly, ultra-modern materials were actively used during its development.
This skyscraper is worth admiring not only during the day but also in the evening - LED spotlights are built into the spire of the UniCredit Tower, and shimmering in different colors, they give the building a completely unique appearance every night. And on Republic Day, the LEDs of the UniCredit Tower shine in the colors of the Italian flag.
An important fact: in 2012, Milan's UniCredit Tower took eighth place in the Emporis architectural award ranking, which honors skyscrapers that combine the best aesthetic and functional design.
