This bar is located right in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, and not so long ago it celebrated its 75th anniversary! However, you can guess its long history just by looking at the interior.
Inside, “Bodega La Palma” resembles a typical tavern from medieval Catalonia, although in fact it only opened in the 1940s and was initially a favorite place of the aristocracy.
For a long time, the bar has been famous throughout the city for its rich wine cellar. Here you can try not only young but also "deep" house wines, as well as refreshing sangria. All this wealth is stored in old oak barrels blackened by time, which also decorate the interior. And from the ceiling of “Bodega La Palma” hang smoked hams and country sausages.
The local waiters are very friendly, attentive, and always try to serve guests as quickly as possible. But if you still have nothing to do while waiting for your order, you can read the vintage posters that hang in abundance on the walls.
Even though you came to a bar, the cuisine will not disappoint you! They serve very tasty meat, cheese, and fish appetizers here, and they also prepare великолепный risotto with octopus and onions. And those who want to try traditional Catalan dishes can order tortilla (an omelet with potatoes) or “patatas bravas” (coarsely cut potatoes with a spicy sauce).
