Like some other churches of Barcelona, St Anne's Church was originally built in the Romanesque style, but later underwent a series of reconstructions that transformed its appearance toward the Gothic style.
Finding this sacred place is, in fact, not so easy. The church is located not far from the Gothic Quarter, and if you use our map, you will definitely be able to get there. But if you do not know about its existence, discovering it by chance, simply while walking down the street, is practically impossible. This church is hidden in a cozy and unassuming place that people usually pass by, thinking that there is simply nothing to see there. And even if you step inside, at first you will find yourself in a small courtyard, quite overgrown with trees and looking more like a park than a holy place.
Despite this, St Anne's Church is perfect both for quiet, focused prayer and for contemplating the cultural heritage that is already about nine centuries old.
