This market is considered one of the largest in Europe. Its history began back in the mid-19th century. It “moved” several times, getting farther and farther from the center. The old name “Ecseri” came from the street on which it was located. And although it has long since been located elsewhere, the name has remained the same.
Antique lovers come here from all over Europe. Here you can find vintage outfits, jewelry, interior items, books, postcards, records, musical instruments, as well as antique furniture. Vendors always quote inflated prices, so bargaining here is a must.
In terms of area, the “Ecseri” flea market covers almost 2 hectares. There is a canopy over it, so you can wander between the rows in any weather and at any time of year. By the way, many people come here for military relics: old uniforms, awards, helmets, weapons, and even tin soldiers.
It is best to come to the market on Saturday morning, when there are the most goods here. It is also open on weekdays, but the selection is not as large as on weekends.
