Milan has long been considered a "Mecca" for fashion enthusiasts in all its forms and manifestations. For several centuries now, it has drawn shopaholics from all over the world like a magnet, and this is hardly surprising - there is plenty here for them to indulge themselves.
Paying tribute to this most important component of the city's image, the authorities of Milan decided not long ago to open the Museum of Fashion and Costume. In January 2010, the project was realized - a magnificent exhibition opened in the luxurious Palazzo Morando, capable of telling the fascinating story of the development of global fashion. On 2000 square meters of exhibition space, collections representing the greatest cultural heritage of the fashion world are displayed - textiles, clothing, and accessories that had previously been kept in the city's museum of applied arts in Sforza Castle.
It is worth noting that this museum is positioned not only as an exhibition, but also as a place where knowledge and emotions converge, where everyone can admire genuine masterpieces of the past and present, and also venture a guess as to what the fashion of the future will be like.
