The area of the old Namal port is a very popular place for recreation and active leisure. From morning until late at night, life is bustling here.
In the mornings, Tel Aviv residents go jogging along the wooden decks, while cyclists and skateboarders speed by. Entry for motor vehicles is prohibited here. During the day, an eco-market opens, where you can buy food products - exclusively natural and environmentally friendly. Several playgrounds have been set up for little ones, where they happily romp about while adults relax in one of the cozy cafes nearby. On Saturday, you can visit the antiques fair in Namal to buy an exotic or antique item if you want to bring back something more exclusive from Israel than a magnet for the refrigerator.
With the onset of evening, this already lively place becomes even more crowded. It is time for bars and restaurants - the lights come on, music plays, and everyone simply has fun. At midnight, Tel Aviv's coolest nightclubs open and discos featuring the best DJs kick off.
However, the Old Port was not always so cheerful. Once, there was simply a port here, founded in the 1930s and abandoned in 1965, after the construction of the new port in Ashdod. Only in the 1990s did the improvement of the area begin here, gradually turning this place into a center of recreation and entertainment.
