The museum at the «Rostov Finift» factory is a true journey into a world of refined beauty. Finift, an ancient Russian folk craft that has long become a model of elite art, appeared in Rostov Veliky as early as the 17th century.
Since then, the secrets and special features of making Rostov finift have been passed down from generation to generation by talented craftsmen. Almost a century ago, a small cooperative of skilled artisans grew into a factory - a large jewelry enterprise.
The Finift Museum will tell you about the distinctive features of the Rostov branch of this applied art, about the history of finift, and about the everyday life of ancient craftsmen. You will also be able to watch the process of creating delicate and colorful miniatures in the skillful hands of the factory's мастеров.
In the museum's display cases, traditional items decorated with a wide variety of designs are exhibited - patterns, flowers, landscapes, animals, and portraits. In addition, here you can see the most famous works of the factory's мастеров, for example the «Miss Russia» crown.
The factory works in five main areas: jewelry, tableware and interior items, souvenirs, special gifts, as well as icon painting and works on religious themes. A pleasant addition is that there is a small shop at the Finift Museum where you can buy gifts and souvenirs at manufacturer prices.
