A true fairytale kingdom awaits visitors to the House of Berendey. In Pereslavl-Zalessky, they decided that this mysterious character lives right there, taking a cue from the Kostroma Snegurochka and the Veliky Ustyug Ded Moroz.
For Berendey, they built grand chambers – a real wooden terem, as if it had stepped off the pages of a favorite fairy tale. The house is painted with bright Russian patterns, and it is impossible to miss.
Of course, the main audience here is children, who are delighted by the cheerful fairytale tsar and his antics. The visit program includes contests, tours, as well as the opportunity to take part in a toy-making workshop. Berendey himself accompanies and entertains visitors, so there is no chance of getting bored.
Next to the terem there is a souvenir shop where you can buy a keepsake styled after Old Russian crafts or a toy made of wood, birch bark, and clay. There is even such an interesting and unique souvenir here as the "berendeyka."
The House of Berendey is always crowded, but the host himself is not always on site, since he has plenty of extraordinarily important fairytale business to attend to. Therefore, it is best to call him in advance and arrange a meeting.
