Updated for 2026: Volzhskie Parusa remains one of the easiest modern landmarks to spot in Volgograd. The riverfront around it continues to evolve, and ground-floor businesses may change over time, but the twin sail-shaped towers still define this stretch of the Volga embankment.
These eye-catching towers stand on the bank of the Volga, their white-and-blue outlines shaped like sails filled with wind. The two-building residential complex was completed in 2008, and many people compare it to the Burj Al Arab in the UAE. It is far smaller than its famous counterpart, of course, but the resemblance is striking enough that Volzhskie Parusa has become one of Volgograd's most recognizable modern landmarks.
One tower has 27 floors, while the other rises 32 floors to about 110 meters. Their curved forms, blue trim, and rooftop details make the nautical theme unmistakable. In the evening, lights on the technical floors reflect in the glass, giving the whole complex the look of a brightly lit ship on dark water. The enclosed passage linking the towers around the 17th to 19th floors contains winter gardens and sports facilities.
The residential levels begin on the fifth floor. Below them are underground parking and public areas finished to custom designs. The lower floors of Volzhskie Parusa have housed a fitness center with a swimming pool, saunas and bathhouses, tanning and spa services, restaurants and cafes, a supermarket, medical facilities, a billiards room, a children's room, and even a florist.
