To fully enjoy the atmosphere of real Tyrol, you should definitely visit the Market Square in Innsbruck. This place, surrounded by colorful old city houses, is almost never empty. Here, in the very center of the Tyrolean capital, life is constantly bustling.
In winter, Christmas markets and cheerful festivals are held here. A beautifully decorated Christmas tree adorns the center of the square, and New Year lights and bright illuminations are lit on the trees, lamp posts, and houses. Folk music can be heard everywhere, and numerous stalls and little shops open where you can buy Tyrolean souvenirs, handicrafts by local artisans, and delicious sweets. The spirit of true Christmas fills the air here, and the whole city gathers for festive performances and concerts.
When spring arrives, the season of farmers' markets begins. Tyrol is famous for its untouched nature, so the products here are исключительно natural and environmentally friendly. Lively trade reigns in the Market Square - you will be offered a huge selection of vegetables, fruits, cheeses, and meat products. You can buy food in its raw form, or already prepared - pastries, liqueurs, infusions, homemade preserves, and sausages. Everything here is always so fresh and appetizing that it is hard to leave the Market Square empty-handed.
