Restaurant “Ottoburg” is located in one of the oldest buildings in Innsbruck on Herzog Friedrich Street. Since 1180, fortifications stood here, the remains of which can still be seen on the second floor in the form of crenellated walls.
Famous historical figures often visited this building. In 1498, the children of Emperor Maximilian I, Philip and Margaret, lived here. The Venetian merchant Georg Reitter, impressed by the magnificent architecture and the views opening from the windows, bought this house in 1588.
On the three floors of Restaurant “Ottoburg”, guests are invited to visit any of several halls, each of which is interesting in its own way. The halls are decorated in different styles – from the Middle Ages to modernism, so you can choose an interior to your taste. From the second floor, magnificent views open onto the picturesque mountains, the Inn River, as well as the imperial “House with the Golden Roof”. The restaurant looks almost like a museum, since many decorative elements have remained untouched since the 12th-15th centuries.
The restaurant's cuisine is distinguished by its sophistication and variety. The menu includes classic dishes made from beef, venison, lamb, fish, vegetarian cuisine, as well as modern culinary delicacies.
