The animals at Salzburg Zoo live so well that visitors might even envy them. Salzburg Zoo is known for the fact that many exotic animals live here in conditions as close as possible to their natural habitat. Plenty of free space and tasty food - what more does the average tiger or hyena need for happiness?
At the zoo, which is located not far from Hellbrunn Palace, a motley group of more than 140 species of animals and birds has gathered. In the process of preparing the grounds for the zoo, the requirements and habits of each animal were taken into account - melancholic lemurs, proud lions, serious rhinoceroses, and friendly raccoons all feel comfortable here.
In total, there are about 800 individuals of different animals here, which allows visitors to get closely acquainted with the fauna of Eurasia, America, and Africa. In addition to the animals, here you can see fish, amphibians, reptiles, and insects, which are kept in separate rooms equipped with aquariums and terrariums.
The zoo's landscape allows for peaceful walks while observing the animals content with life, who are also always glad to see guests, although they sometimes pretend not to notice you.
