The beautiful garden near the residence of the Yaroslavl governors was laid out at the same time as the construction of the palace itself - in the first half of the 19th century. This place remembers all the Russian tsars of its time, from Alexander I to Nicholas II. Now anyone can enjoy the aristocratic atmosphere of the past combined with modern culture. The house and garden are part of the Yaroslavl Art Museum, which carried out the reconstruction of the grounds in 1994.
Governor's Garden is very neat and well maintained, with straight paths and regularly shaped lawns. In addition, many sculptures made of bronze, ceramics, marble, and granite are exhibited here. This exhibition is called "Sculpture in the Open Air," and it features works by the best masters of Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
