The museum's exhibition consists, as is easy to guess, of letters and neon signs from different eras. Here you can admire various symbols, learn their history and manufacturing techniques. All of the museum's exhibits were once part of street landscapes, but became outdated and were sent to collectors' archives.
So that visitors can fully enjoy the neon signs, the museum's main halls are done in black, and flashlights are handed out at the entrance to anyone who wants one. There are also several small bright rooms, divided by color – red, blue, and yellow.
Almost the entire museum collection consists of letters and signs found in Berlin and its surroundings, but in the near future the founders of the collection want to expand the exhibition with signs made up of Asian, Arabic, and Cyrillic letters.
However, it is quite interesting here already now. The museum has many “famous” exhibits, for example, the large letter “E,” which appeared in Quentin Tarantino's film “Inglourious Basterds.” And here you can also look behind the scenes of neon signs and understand how they glow brightly and attract the attention of passersby in the dark.
