The GDR State Security Museum is a collection of exhibits from the secret service of East Germany, which was tasked with protecting the dictatorial regime of the proletariat. The collection is located in the very building where the GDR Ministry of State Security was once housed.
The Stasi Museum has preserved in authentic form the interiors of the offices of senior intelligence officials, the secretariat setting, and meeting rooms. Here you can see the very desks and chairs at which important decisions were made, suspects were interrogated, secret information and orders were passed on, deciding the fate of many people.
Even the office of the last State Security Minister, Erich Mielke, has been preserved. In addition, the Stasi Museum has assembled an excellent collection of interesting spy gadgets that were once used by secret agents to obtain classified information. You will also learn a great deal of curious and sometimes frightening information about interrogation techniques and methods of extracting information. This museum will be of interest both to fans of spy games and to connoisseurs of GDR history.
