The Curonian Spit National Park in the Kaliningrad Region is well known for its unique panoramas, flora, and fauna. But there is one place there that is instantly and forever remembered by everyone who has seen it. It is the so-called Dancing Forest – a section of pine forest about a kilometer long, where the trees form amazing shapes and spirals with their trunks. It creates the impression that these are magical living creatures, suddenly frozen in certain dance poses.
This site on the Curonian Spit was planted in the 1960s. No one could have imagined then that something so unusual would grow on Baltic soil. To this day, scientists are still scratching their heads, unable to find an answer to the mystery of this natural phenomenon. By the way, a similar forest also exists in Denmark, also on the coast of the Baltic Sea.
Opinions about the Dancing Forest differ. Some believe that this place has a special energy, though it is unclear whether it is positive or negative. And some claim that the trees twisted into rings are portals to the spirit world. As many people, so many opinions, especially when there is no logical explanation.
