The first Indian water amusement park, “Water Kingdom”, opened in 1998 next to the “land-based” amusement park “Essel World”. The water park welcomes up to three million visitors a year, and there are no fewer locals among them than tourists, since there are few places in Mumbai suitable for swimming outdoors.
“Water Kingdom” consists of five large zones, each interesting in its own way. For children there are spacious shallow pools with crystal-clear water and low, safe slides.
Older children and adults can have fun in a more extreme way – in such zones as “Missphisly Hill” or “Adventures Amazonia”. There are large water slides here, and one – for the bravest – is as high as a seven-story building. Those who are afraid of heights can enjoy the sight from below of daredevils squealing in fear. The “Wetlantic” zone features a huge pool with artificial waves, styled like Treasure Island.
You can spend the whole day in the park having carefree fun, splashing in the pleasant water and sunbathing on loungers, relaxing in bubbling jacuzzis, or dancing it up on the dance floor – in India, you simply have to dance, always and everywhere.
