Hanging Gardens surround the top of Malabar Hill, an elite district of Mumbai, with picturesque terraces. At the very top of the hill there is a water reservoir that supplies water to the southern part of the city and gives Hanging Gardens their constant freshness.
The beautiful landscape park also has a more official name - Ferozeshah Mehta Gardens, in honor of the famous politician and public figure of the colonial period. Hanging Gardens are part of the large Kamala Nehru Park complex. They were founded back in 1881, and in 1921 they were significantly expanded and renovated.
Well-kept paths, perfect lawns, intricate hedges shaped like animals, and colorful flower beds of all shapes and sizes attract both local residents and guests of Mumbai.
