The zoo in Kostroma opened relatively recently - on August 29, 2010, during the City Day celebrations. It is located in the western part of Berendeevka Park and was created following the principle of the world's leading nature reserves. A vast area of more than 92 hectares, with minimal alterations, is harmoniously woven into the natural landscape.
A total of 94 animals representing 33 different species live here. You will be able to get a closer look at animals such as the bear, deer, wolf, raccoon dog, lynx, fox, wild boar, sable, and other representatives of the animal world typical of this climate zone. More exotic animals also live here: ostriches, lions, marals, peacocks.
Kostroma Zoo is well-kept and tidy, and it is pleasant to take a walk here, especially since the grounds make it possible to enjoy the fresh air and have a good time.
