Birches, pines, lakes, and fresh air - all this is the beautiful Berendeevka Park in Kostroma. It is located almost within the city limits, and its territory covers about 90 hectares. Residents of Kostroma love to relax here, but tourists also often come here to enjoy the peaceful nature and see some sights.
Berendeevka Park got its name from the mythical people called the "Berendei," described by the Russian playwright A.N. Ostrovsky in the fairy tale "Snegurochka." At one time, a feature film of the same name was even shot here based on this work, and many sets of wooden houses were installed. Many of them have survived to this day, and one of them houses a museum of wooden crafts.
The park has plenty of natural greenery, paths, and three ponds. If you wish, you can swim in one of them, while the others are home to all kinds of waterfowl and aquatic creatures like ducks and perch. You can feed the ducks and catch the perch - the main thing is not to mix them up ;)
For more active entertainment, there is an amusement park here with a Ferris wheel, swings, and carousels. You can also have a snack and drink tea at a cozy cafe here.
On holidays, various events, concerts, and performances are held in Berendeevka Park, for example, a farewell to the Russian winter.
