“Wonders of the Sea and Mountains”, “Heavenly Grottoes” - this is how the name of the park, which is located 40 kilometers from the city of Sanya, can be interpreted.
This place is considered the jewel in the crown of Hainan's attractions. The park, with its incredibly beautiful nature, covers an area of 22,5 square kilometers.
The forest massif is part of Nanshan Park, but is located on the other slope of the mountain of the same name. There are many long-lived people here, so the wish to live as long as in Nanshan has spread throughout the country.
In the park, in addition to lush vegetation and a mountain landscape with bodies of water, you can see a Taoist center with a temple that attracts pilgrims from different corners of the earth. It dates back to the reign of the Song dynasty, that is, it appeared more than 800 years ago.
It is believed that one of the four dragons ruling the world made his home here. People worship him and ask for help in their affairs. The 6-thousand-year-old “Dragon Tree” growing on the grounds of the temple complex has become a symbol of longevity.
You can ride through the park on an electric bus, and throughout the excursion you will be accompanied by natural stone sculptures of bizarre shapes and mysterious caves.
