Yalongwan is a crescent-shaped bay, 25 kilometers from the city of Sanya. This elite resort with snow-white beaches stretching seven kilometers is often called the Asian Hawaii because of the similar climate. There are many sunny days here, and the average annual temperature exceeds 25 degrees. The Chinese name of this place is Yaochi, which translates as "earthly paradise."
Yalongwan Square is the main local attraction. Here you can see sculptures, fountains, a 27-meter-high column nicknamed the totem, and, of course, many little restaurants to suit every taste.
In the morning and evening, an interesting event takes place here, exotic for Europeans. Hundreds of Chinese gather in the square to do exercises: they perform synchronized movements to music.
The square is home to the "Poseidon Museum," which is also called the museum of sea shells. It was opened at the end of the last century, but in such a short time they managed to assemble a rich collection of exhibits from the seas of different continents.
The museum is divided into four halls, each of which tells about one of the planet's oceans. Thanks to the latest technical equipment, visitors get the illusion that they have descended to the bottom, where they study the world of marine life.
