Baihuashan Waterfall is often called one of Hainan's most beautiful natural sights. Water pours down a broad rocky slope, flashing in the sun as it tumbles through the greenery.
The waterfall lies near Qiongzhong in central Hainan, close to Wuzhishan, the island's best-known mountain. Its name means "Five Fingers," a nod to the peaks that from a distance look like an outstretched hand.
Wuzhishan rises to nearly 1,900 meters and has long been wrapped in local legend. The scenery can feel almost unreal: green ridges, drifting clouds, and, after rain, the occasional rainbow hanging over the slopes.
Getting there usually means following an established trail with wide views across the valley. The mountainsides are thick with tropical vegetation, and the area is also known for tea grown in these cool, misty highlands.
