The Chinese Amazon - this is what they call the national park, which is essentially a wild tropical forest with rivers and mountains. This corner of paradise is the largest of the original tropical forests that have survived to our time.
In 2005, China National Geographic magazine recognized it as the most magnificent forest in China. This natural treasure covers an area of 430 square kilometers.
Here, 28 thousand species of plants and 43 thousand species of birds and animals can be seen. The black crested gibbon, for example, is endemic to the island, meaning it lives only here and nowhere else in the world. Many ferns also grow here - witnesses to the age of dinosaurs.
The route to the forest park runs along a fabulous serpentine road. You will feel like the heroes of your favorite children's adventure films, so captivating is the journey to the park and within it. Magnificent mountain waterfalls, green peaks, picturesque rivers - contemplating all this will put you in a positive mood and bring harmony to your soul.
One of the highest mountains on the island - Jianfengling, whose height is 1420 meters - is considered the pride of the reserve. The central valley of the park is enclosed on all sides by mountain peaks, which makes its microclimate unique: the air temperature here always stays at 19-20 degrees Celsius.
The park territory is divided into seven zones, which are connected to each other by paths. The plants have signs with their names in both Chinese and English. The zone called Minfenggu has the most birds: hawks and herons, peacocks and partridges, and you can observe all the birds from a close distance.
