It is a mountain range with waterfalls and wild forest, where there are areas untouched by human foot. The reserve, covering 38 thousand hectares, is located in the southeastern part of Hainan, 90 kilometers from the city of Sanya.
Rare animals, birds, and insects inhabit the unique tropical forest with its rich vegetation. Throughout the entire walk, you will be accompanied by the songs of cicadas and other sounds of wild nature.
There are unique relict plants here that were widespread even in the age of the dinosaurs, such as the tree fern. In total, the reserve is home to 3.5 thousand plant species, and almost one tenth of this number are orchids.
The reserve's butterfly collection includes three hundred species. An interesting encounter will be meeting black gibbons, monkeys characteristic of South China.
Sanqiao is the highest mountain peak in the reserve. It rises more than 1.5 thousand meters above sea level. The island's largest waterfall, Fengoshan, is also located here, with a height of 30 meters. Another waterfall, Shiqing, is unique in that it splits into two streams in openings in the rock and resembles an eye in its structure.
